A 'new' toy for the boy....

....for me it's the machine from hell (eine Hoellenmaschine) and for Doug....a machine from heaven. Just think about all the things you can do with it!

Like....I have/had no clue but I am not a boy....digging up garden beds, landscaping the garden (help!) and the beach, mowing lawn (we actually have not a real lawn but good enough for us). There are 52 attachments - only the Earth gods know the possibilities.

Doug wanted to take the tractor out on a test drive this morning but.... the tractor took him out.

Sitka Deer

Ich werde nie muede die Rehe und vorallem die Kitze zu beobachten. Unsere Sitka Blacktail Deer sind kleiner, wie in den anderen Staaten und haben eine sehr schoene dunkle, fast schwarze, Zeichnung im Gesicht.

Bei diesem Kitz sind die weissen Punkte/Flecken noch sichtbar. Die Ricke kuemmert sich ruehrend um das Kitz, alle paar Minuten wird es abgeschleckt und beschnuppert.In ein paar Wochen beginnt die Brunftzeit und damit ein haerteres Dasein fuer die Kitze, denn die Mutter/Ricke stoesst die Jungen weg um sich neu paaren zu koennen.

We stay with Jeff and Corin in Kona on the Big Island. Their house has a dreamview. Jeff is an avid gardener and we are on the way....

....picking oranges, tangerines and limes which is a quiet different sort of gardening compared to what we are used to in Alaska.
